Who we are
The Dads After Dark Show ("we", "us") is a late-night comedy/talk show and fan community operated by Kevin Flanagan in Florida, USA. This policy explains what information this website collects, which third-party services are involved, and how you can get your information deleted.
Privacy contact: email kevin@landtosee.com — or call/text the Dad Hotline at (813) 280-5468.
What we collect, and why
Mailing list / "Uplink" form
When you submit the form on our homepage we store your name, email address, and any message you write, your alert preferences (episode alerts / game alerts), the page the form was on, and — to fight spam and abuse — your IP address and browser user-agent string. We use this to run the mailing list you signed up for. We do not send marketing email ourselves from this site; the list is used for show updates you requested.
The Mothership forum
If you create a forum account we store your handle, a hashed version of your password (we never store or see your actual password), an optional email address, your bio, your posts, replies, reactions, check-ins, badges and activity stats, plus a session cookie so you stay logged in. Other members can see your handle, bio and posts.
The Dad Hotline
If you call or text the Dad Hotline, our phone provider (Quo, below) delivers your phone number, the content of your texts, call details (time, duration), and voicemail recordings to us. Selected messages may be shown on the live stream after a human approves them; when they are, your number is masked to the area code only.
Sponsor clicks
Clicks on sponsor links are counted in aggregate (which link, and when). We do not attach your name, account or IP address to sponsor click counts.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request, timestamp) for security and reliability.
Third-party services this site uses
| Service | What it does here | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Railway (hosting) | Hosts this website and its database. | Everything stored by the site (above), plus standard server logs including IP addresses. |
| YouTube / Google | Episode videos and thumbnails. Videos are embedded using YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie) domain and only load the player when you press play. Thumbnails are served from Google's image servers, and our server fetches the episode list from the YouTube API. | When a thumbnail loads or you play a video, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details; after you press play, Google may set cookies — see Google's privacy policy. We do not send Google your name, email or account details. |
| Quo (formerly OpenPhone) | Provides the Dad Hotline phone number, texting and voicemail. | Your phone number and the content of calls/texts to the hotline, as described above. |
| GoRemoteViewing.com (sponsor) | Show sponsor. Sponsor links include UTM campaign tags. | Only if you tick the opt-in box on the mailing-list form: your name and email address, sent to the sponsor so they can send you a free remote-viewing starter mission. The form says this out loud before you tick it. If you don't tick it, they get nothing about you from us. |
| Imgur, Giphy, Tenor | Some forum posts embed images/GIFs hosted by these services. | If you view a post containing one, your browser loads it from that service, which receives your IP address and browser details. |
We run no advertising trackers and no analytics services, and we never sell personal information.
Cookies
This site sets only two cookies of its own, both strictly functional: dad_sid (keeps you logged in to the forum) and dad_admin (same, for site administrators). No tracking or advertising cookies are set by us. Because the only cookies are essential session cookies and our video embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, we do not show a cookie banner; if that ever changes, this policy will say so first. YouTube/Google may set their own cookies after you press play on a video — those are governed by Google's policies.
How we share information
Only as described above: with the sponsor if you opted in, with our hosting/phone/video providers to run the site, and if we are legally required to. That's it.
How long we keep it
Mailing-list entries stay until you ask us to remove them. Forum accounts and posts stay until you delete your posts or ask us to delete your account. Hotline messages stay until we clear them or you ask us to remove yours.
Your rights — including deletion
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete your information (mailing-list entry, forum account, or hotline messages). Email kevin@landtosee.com from the address you signed up with (or tell us the phone number you called the hotline from), and we will remove it — normally within a few days, and within 30 days at the latest. Deleting a forum account removes your profile and sessions; posts you made are removed or anonymised. If you opted in to the sponsor, note they already received your name and email — you can ask them to delete it under GoRemoteViewing.com's own privacy policy, and we will also pass your request along if you ask us to.
Children
This is a late-night show made for adults. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
